Happy National Running Day!

5 Jun

It’s that time of year again – National Running Day is here! If you’re wondering what this is all about, here’s a quote directly from the website:

“National Running Day, held annually on the first Wednesday in June, is a day when runners everywhere declare their passion for running. Wherever we are and whomever we’re with, we run—fast or slow, alone or with others, all over town or just around the block. It is a coast-to-coast celebration of a sport and activity that’s simple, inexpensive, and fun. It’s the perfect way for longtime runners to reaffirm their love of running and for beginners to kick off a lifetime and life-changing commitment.”

To join in, you can make yourself a fun badge to proudly display your reason(s) for running. And then lace up your shoes and get out there! You can run solo, with a buddy, or with a group. However you do it, just run and celebrate!

National Running DayTo kick off the celebration, Mark and I ran a mile together this morning. (Our second mile together this week!)

National Running Day 3I’ll be having my own little celebration later when I head out for a few solo miles after work.

How are you celebrating?
